Objectives:

After attending this program in full, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand and clinically apply how early experience impact brain development and mental health.
  2. Recognize and clinically apply how the blocking of empathy in emotional flooding is related to brain processes.
  3. Understand how mirror neurons are related to the experience of empathy.
  4. Understand and clinically apply how brain processes of empathy increase modulation and mentalization.
  5. Identify the major symptoms clusters in different type of borderline patients.
  6. Identify abnormalities in the pre-frontal cortex, amygdale and other neural circuits that underlie different symptoms.
  7. Learn how to tailor psychotherapeutic techniques to different types of borderline patients.

CE Credits: 3 (three), upon completion
