The Southeast Florida Institute for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy

SEFIPP, dedicated to the advancement of psychoanalytic understanding of the mind and human behavior, was founded in 1993. The impetus for its beginnings came from members of the Southeast Florida Association for Psychoanalytic Psychology (SEFAPP) who were trained in psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic psychotherapy in a variety of educational and institute settings. Their vision was to establish a pluralistic, progressive and innovative center for psychoanalytic study, inquiry, training and collegiality.

SEFIPP offers mental health professionals deeper, broader, more effective and satisfying ways to work with individuals, understand the mind, behavior, emotions, motivations and unconscious processes to enable lasting internal change and growth. Going beyond symptoms to enable the achievement of lasting changes, psychoanalytic approaches to psychological suffering help to unlock and examine the reasons behind worries, anxieties, depression and interpersonal difficulties, within the context of a close, caring and therapeutic partnership.

In this spirit, and designed to enhance the knowledge skills and effectiveness of clinicians in all mental health fields, SEFIPP also offers its training and educational programs for interested professionals in related disciplines such as the humanities and philosophy.
