Objectives:

After attending this program in full, participants will be able to:

  1. Explain the relationship between the refusal to grieve and relentlessness
  2. Appreciate the distinction between relentless hope and relentless outrage
  3. Speak to the importance of transforming the need to possess and control the object into the capacity to accept it as it is; and
  4. Understand the significance of clarifying the patient’s investment in her sadomasochistic defenses.
